Our vision for the future of the Elias-Frank House
An initiative group has already developed prospective plans for the redesign and future use of the Elias-Frank House - a house, to enable a meeting place for interreligious and intercultural dialogue.

Project vision
Historic places of remembrance such as the Elias-Frank House should not only be preserved, but also act as lively centres for intercultural dialogue, mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence. The House in Basel strives to be a place that inspires people to listen and learn from each other; and to promote an empathetic, inclusive society in the spirit of Anne Frank's values.

We are therefore committed to ensuring that the Elias-Frank House can become a place for communal remembrance, not least ofJewish history. Spaces for dialogue and encounters are essential for this. At the same time, we believe that an awareness of the relevance of remembrance is indispensable for our everyday and future actions and coexistence. By preserving and opening up the Elias-Frank House, we are creating aspace for:
A culture of remembrance that demonstrates a responsible approach to the past in order to draw relevant conclusions for the present and a conscious shaping of the future. This will be realised through a variety of initiatives, including workshops, discussion groups and rotating exhibitions on the history of the Elias-Frank family.
A diversity of voices that that welcomes people with different backgrounds and perspectives to coexist equally in a setting of respectful dialogue. Fostering this platform for exchange will be achieved, among other methods, through open discussions and educational programmes.
Shared experience of everyday behaviours and emotions to strengthen connections between people. Collaborative art projects would be a point of focus to express, create and cooperate.
