"Save the Elias-Frank House"
The ‘Save the Elias-Frank House’ campaign has set itself the goal of preventing the house from becoming the object of property speculation and to preserve its unique history. The final objective is to make it accessible for the public as a place of learning and intercultural and interreligious dialogue.
That is why they have startet the campaign "Save the Elias-Frank House".
The Elias-Frank House is to be saved from getting sold, as this house has a rich history and has been a home to the Elias-Frank family since 1938 as well as a place of refuge for Otto Frank. Anne Frank herself used to visit the house in St. Johann (Basel) frequently with her family before the war and found much joy in spending time with her cousin Buddy Elias, who grew up there with his family.
Now all of this is in danger of disappearing and with it a key piece of Jewish history in Switzerland.
The campaign seeks to ensure that the house is preserved for the family and the public. As a place of learning and a fulcrum for intercultural and interreligious dialogue. For this purpose the association "Unterstützungskreis Elias-Frank-Haus" was founded.
